Controller and contact
Alderfen Applied Intelligence Ltd is responsible for personal information it processes for website administration and its own enquiry handling. Our registered address is 28 Rowanwell Street, Ancoats, Manchester, M4 6JN, United Kingdom. Contact [email protected] for privacy questions or requests. Please identify the relevant interaction without sending unnecessary identity documents.
Information and purposes
When you send an enquiry, we receive the information you include, such as your name, email address, organisation and description of the proposed work. We use it to reply, assess scope, arrange discussions and maintain relevant correspondence. Do not send passwords, unrestricted internal records or sensitive personal information through the initial contact route.
The contact form prepares an email draft on your device. Completing the form does not transmit its fields to a website form-processing service. Information reaches us when you send the email through your email provider. Hosting infrastructure may process technical request information, including IP addresses, requested resources and timestamps, to deliver and protect the website.
Legal bases and applicable law
Relevant processing is governed by the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, as amended. We rely on legitimate interests for proportionate business correspondence, website security and administration, subject to consideration of individuals’ rights. Steps requested before entering a contract, contractual necessity and legal obligations may apply to relevant records. Where consent is required for a particular purpose, it must be obtained separately and can be withdrawn.
The EU GDPR may also apply where its territorial conditions are met. California residents may have rights under the CCPA, as amended, where that law applies to the processing and business concerned. We assess requests under the applicable law rather than assuming that every regime applies to every visitor.
Cookies and service providers
See the cookie policy for browser storage and controls. Enquiries are not used to create advertising audiences. Hosting and email providers may process information to deliver their respective services. Professional advisers may receive relevant information where needed for legal, accounting or dispute matters.
Where a provider acts as our processor, processing must be covered by appropriate contractual terms. International transfers require an applicable lawful mechanism and assessment where the relevant regime requires them. Ask us for information about providers or transfer arrangements relevant to your interaction. We do not sell enquiry information.
Retention and security
We retain enquiry correspondence while it is needed to respond, assess potential work and address reasonable follow-up. We review material when the enquiry closes and remove information that is no longer necessary. Contract, accounting or dispute records may require longer retention for legal obligations or the establishment, exercise or defence of claims. Any such retention must be limited to the relevant records.
Access is limited according to business need. Appropriate safeguards include account security, controlled sharing and deletion procedures. Email is not a suitable channel for every confidential document; a project-specific transfer route should be agreed before sharing sensitive source material. No internet transmission can be guaranteed completely secure.
Your rights and complaints
Depending on the applicable law and circumstances, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability, and may object to processing. Rights have legal exceptions. We may request proportionate information to confirm identity and locate records. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing lawfully carried out before withdrawal.
You may complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office or another competent supervisory authority. We encourage you to contact us so that concerns can be addressed directly. Changes to this policy will appear on this page; material changes to an existing processing purpose may require a separate notice.
